The Porterhouse is owned by the Porterhouse Brewing Company which brews all its own distinctive beers at Ireland’s first brew-pub opened in Dublin, in the famous Temple Bar area in 1989. It serves a very wide range of its own handcrafted beers, all unpasteurised and brewed using natural ingredients, including one assumes Irish Moss, a seaweed used for clearing the beer during the boil. They also do the Best Stout in the World, or so they say, their award-winning Plain Porter. This pub has a deceptively small exterior—it is in fact a very large pub, the largest in London, but split over several levels so that despite its size there are many areas where a degree of privacy is possible.
